This type of counselling is less about ‘quick fixes’ and advice and more about reflection and curiosity and discovering how your past experiences, early relationships and the hidden layers of your mind shape how you view yourself and the world around you.
Psychodynamic counselling can help you understand the connection between your history and your current struggles. Sometimes we are not conscious of what is causing our difficulties and our intense feelings and in our sessions we will explore the hidden roots of your emotional pain so that you can move forward in a healthier and more compassionate relationship with yourself and others.
The therapeutic relationship between us is important and over time as we get to know each other we aim to develop a collaborative and trusting relationship which enables you to engage more deeply in the work. This is your counselling and your space and we will go at a pace which feels comfortable for you.
